With a 5 to 4 vote the MSAD #60 School Board voted to expand health services in the Noble Health Center to include Mental and Reproductive Health services. An addendum was added at the last second to not allow the distribution of emergency contraception.

Successful Trip to Washington, DC

The committee just voted UNANIMOUSLY “ought not to pass” on both bills!  I am stunned!  This means that the bills will go to the House and Senate next week and will be killed without debate.  There is no chance that these bills can pass now!

Yesterday the Health and Human Services Committee held public hearings on LD #251 An Act To Protect the Safety of Maine Children by Requiring the Express Consent of a Legal Guardian To Dispense Prescription Medication to a Minor
and LD #802An Act To Require Reporting on Medical Services or Treatment Provided to Minors without Parental Consent.

 MYAN, including college intern Chelsea Schoen, prepared and facilitated this centralized training in Waterville on October 31st.  6 Adults and 16 youth attended the training.
Created detailed interactive curriculum for the SBHC fall centralized training.  Goals for the training included: Advocacy training and skill building, opportunity to network, ask questions and share needs/concerns, MEASBHC overview [...]
